Collaborator

Collaboration has been a part of my practice from the outset…

First through the framework of relational aesthetics. Then, via interactive installations that presented a stage for others to tell their stories upon. Later my practice expanded to include working with community to help individuals tell their stories, including people who may not otherwise be able to do so. These engagements merged at times with my teaching practice incorporating approaches to narrative constructivism and andragogy (as opposed to pedagogy). My own experiments also led me to work with transdisciplinary researchers interested in feminist approaches to data collection/creation and the potential of creative methods in these contexts. The longer I have worked with ideas of collaboration and co-design, the more nuanced I have recognised these engagements to be. My doctoral research at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is about delving even deeper still, into ethical approaches to authorship, agency and attribution that have equality and diversity at their core. This page explores my experiments with collaboration over time, some of the wonderful people who have kindly worked with me along the way, and the interdisciplinary journey that has accompanied the cerebral one explained in brief above.
